DMR Tech Consult Services
Custom Design and Manufacture
We also design and manufacture a range of items to support various aspects of DMR operations.
These range from developments of what were originally in-house training aids to demonstrate telemetry, gpio and accessory functions, through to complete CAD consoles.

We have found through work on multiple installations that many clients do not fully understand the telemetry capabilities of the radios, in large part this is because they have no simple, convenient way to explore, test and demonstrate the various functions.
Likewise, while the various CAD systems such as TrboNet or SmartPTT are excellent software packages, there are no hardware units designed specifically for them, some hardware has been adapted but seldom delivers 100% performance - this is not a design fault, these units work well doing what they were designed for, they just were not designed for these CAD systems.

Below are some examples of our designs, we can incorporate as many or as few features as you wish.

All designs are based on fully tested component configurations, which in conjunction with the "Custom design" part means that we can produce a unit to your requirements in as little as 1 day.
Customisable aspects include; number and location of PTT buttons, inbuilt speakers, audio amplifiers, touchscreen sizes from 10" to 12.3", to name just a few.
All units are in aluminum cases for durability and shielding, they are all low voltage compliant. Cases are powder coated to whichever colour you request.
Language settings for OLED's can be changed on request, likewise any panel labels can be changed to whatever you want - though in this case we will ask you for the translation in case we get it wrong, google translate is not always our friend.
Breakout Box
The Breakout Box (BB) series is available in several configurations, these allow connection to any portable, mobile or repeater radio (MotoTrbo or Dimetra.)
As the examples illustrate these could be simple 4mm banana sockets for a repeater BB, through to pre-configured units for portables and mobiles that incorporate standard items such as PTT switches, Loudspeaker and USB/Data connections for quick test and development.

This is an example of the BB 1, it is designed primarily for convenient access to the accessory connections of a DM series radio, though it can as easily be used with DP or R7 series, or Dimetra radios.
Yousee that colours are available on request, labeling of the ports may be simply pin numbers of the accessory connector or may include a description of function.
We can provide a ready made accessory connector to 25 way D Sub connector, or instructions for you to make your own.

CAD Consoles
Our CAD consoles are not intended as a standalone dispatch unit, they have been designed to support existing CAD programs such as TrboNet and SmartPTT etc.
The CAD consoles are available with or without touchscreens, they can incorporate several PTT buttons that are linked to the CAD hotkey function. They can be designed with multiple audio paths via use of added (included) software. PTT buttons have OLED displays indicating which channel/TG they are assigned, these can be user programmed and there is a Quick-Select keypad option that allocates 16 choices to a single PTT button.
We can construct these consoles with an inbuilt i5 or i7 PC, however this is not recommended. This is not for technical or manufacturing reasons, rather it is the case that users most likely already have suitable PC's so why replace the entire unit. We can recommend and supply suitable i5 or i7 (even i9) NUC units (or full size) that have inbuilt multiple display capability (we stopped at 5 monitors from one NUC - we ran out of space.)
Basically, we can supply a complete system on request but we are not an IT hardware company, we fully accept that you may have existing purchasing and support channels for PC's that you prefer to use.
The PC unit may be dedicated to the CAD system for single use, or it may also be running CCTV control or separate Telemetry functions or simply an additional reporting and recording system, all of these would inform the decision of what specification is required.
